There
are believers in the myth of Atlantis who
predict that one day this fantastic city will
rise from the depths of the ocean to regain
its former glory. If only those people could
set sail on the Voyager of the Seas,
they would see that the city has already
risen. Not only is the Voyager of the Seas
the largest cruise ship on the planet, but it
also has more facilities and entertainment
choices than many small cities. To start,
there are three main dining rooms, each named
after a famous opera, which share a striking
crystal chandelier and are connected by a
grand, sweeping staircase. In addition to
these gourmet eateries, there are four other
dining areas and restaurants. The sports and
fitness offerings on this ship will make you
scratch your head in disbelief: a full
basketball/volleyball court, golf simulator,
jogging track, rock-climbing wall, in-line
skating track, nine-hole miniature golf
course, and a top-of-the-line fitness center
and spa. Did we forget to mention the ice
skating rink in the Studio B entertainment
complex, deep in the belly of the ship? Studio
B also doubles as a television studio and
concert venue. The three pools and whirlpool
spas on the ship are surrounded by ample
places to sunbathe. There's even an outdoor
family deck, complete with a water slide.
But wait--there's more! How
about a jazz club, nightclub, golf bar, cigar
bar, sports bar, cocktail lounge, aquarium bar
(which features several incredible tanks
containing colorful fish and more than 56 tons
of saltwater!), champagne bar, and dancing
lounge. The La Scala theater is a perfect
venue to catch one of the ship's many live
performances. Two casinos are on board,
including one with the world's largest
interactive roulette wheel. Don't forget the
Royal Promenade. Four decks tall and wide
enough to accommodate three lanes of traffic,
this is the heart of the ship. Not only can
you stroll the promenade, which is lined with
charmingly designed storefronts offering
entertainment and shopping opportunities 24
hours a day, but you can also enjoy a Mardi
Gras street-fair atmosphere as jugglers,
mimes, magicians, and artists perform. Views
are spectacular, whether your stateroom
overlooks the ocean or the promenade. Overall,
this ship has a little something for
everyone--and then some. It's an amazing
vessel that will provide you and your 3,100
fellow passengers with memories to last a
lifetime.
